How many times my mom spoke about osteoporosis? She’s really scared that I don’t drink enough milk. Luckily for me I’m in Rome and she in Udine and luckily for both of us calcium is in many ingredients, not only in milk.
I was thinking to prepare a dinner with asparagus when I read the “Beautiful Bone” food event announce .
The list of calcium-rich foods is really reassuring. Despite the usual list of foods for health problems, that one is really rich and positive, full of good food and without the part related to the food to avoid. And in the list there are Asparagus.
Being in Rome I’ve thought to a sort of Carbonara with Asparagus. My Cavia, guineapig, really liked the results. He ate voraciously this pasta.
The recipe for 2 people is.
CARBONARA WITH ASPARAGUS
250 gr pasta (for a very rich dinner or lunch)
125 gr pancetta (unsmoked streaky bacon) or guanciale, depending on your taste and your availability in the fridge
6 asparagus or as many you like
1 egg
Pecorino cheese
Salt
Pepper
Boil salted water for the pasta. Meanwhile heat in a pot the pancetta and cut the asparagus in many “round pieces”. Add asparagus to the pancetta and fry at medium heat for 5-8 minutes. I didn’t add oil count on the fat of pancetta, and having in this way a more healthy sauce. Cook the pasta as usual. Mix egg and 2 tablespoon of cheese and pepper separately. When the pasta in ready, put together pasta, pancetta and asparagus and mix. Finally add the egg mixture and toss together well. Serve with cheese according to tastes.
And now the Italian translation…translation, so and so, it’s my original language
Ooh, my cavia would like this too! 🙂 He adores carbonara, and the asparagus makes it even better. I usually use pancetta because guanciale is hard to find here. Thank you for a delicious entry, Rossella!
Ciao!
This is one recipe my family would love. I would also use pancetta because guanciale is not easily found here.
Delicious, fast and easy to prepare. Thanks for sharing.
ciao..
è ottima spesso la faccio buona giornata
Thanks for the comments. I adore them.
To be sincere, even I use pancetta.
you are exactly right about the lists of bad foods–i love when someone tells me to eat cheese.
i love when someone tells me to eat asparagus. They are so bad for blood coagulation. This time I’ve chosen bones instead of blood. For a time my mother would be happy of my decision 🙂
my husband and I made this and it was delicious. We used fusili b/c that is what we had–but wonderful. thanks.
