Menu for Hope 6 (in English)

Menu for Hope is an international initative involving foodbloggers, that each year during the Xmas times offer prize for UN initiatives.
This year the Menu for Hope fundraising campaign is dedicated to Purchase for Progress (P4P) initiative. It is a campaign in favour to local farmers in order to support them in improving production technique. More informations are available here: http://www.wfp.org/purchase-progress .
Money will be collected through FirstGiving following this link http://firstgiving.com/menuforhope6/. Me and other blogger haven’t any contact with donations.
Donations? Yes, you’re in front of a big choice. With a 10 U$ ticket you can participate to the assignment of a long list of bid items.
You select the item for which you want to “compete” with others, remember its code and input it during the online ticket purchase. It’s more easy to do than to describe.

The complete list of bid items available for Europe is available on the blog of David Lebovitz, while for a more complete overview of items available at international (or better global) level go to Chez Pim ‘s blog.

Given that you are now on my blog, let’s look at the item EU12 that I offer directly from Rome (Italy). It’s a selection of traditional italian products. I hope you will like it.
The “Taste of Italy for Hope” item is composed by:
1000 gr coffee of Sant’Eustachio (Rome)
50 gr choco-coffee beans, always made in Sant’Eustachio (Rome)
300 gr Torrone by Antica Torroneria Piemontese
200 gr Amaretti di Saronno
100 gr Modica Chocolate from Antica Dolceria Rizza
500 gr sun-dried tomatoes from Calabria, selected by Castroni (Roma)
250gr orange tasting tagliolini by Zanier (Friuli Venezia Giulia)
50gr spice-mix for Bucatini all’Amatriciana
6 small preserves for cheese produced by Casa Cjanor (Friuli).
These products cover almost all Italy, starting from Piedmont and ending in Sicily.
The “Taste of Italy for Hope” basket will be ship to EU countries, to avoid troubles with custom limitation to food shipment.
